Operation Christmas Child - Breakthrough Church has signed up with the local Operation Christmas Child contact as one of the many participating local churches. Pastor Jason is encouraging us to take part in this ministry to unfortunate children in poverty stricken countries during the upcoming Christmas season. In the next couple weeks, already wrapped Christmas shoe boxes will be made available to you and your family. You will receive instructions and can start packing your box(es) for the girl(s) and/or boy(s) you & your family has decided to bless. You may choose to fill one or twenty boxes - it's up to you. Until then, if you'd like, you can start keeping an eye out for sales or start shopping for items such as pencils, notepads, erasers, small soft toys, small dolls, hair accessories, finger puppets, yo-yo, toothbrushes, wrapped bar soap, tennis balls, etc, etc. A collection Sunday date(bringing your filled boxes to the church for a blessing before shipping out) will be announced. Pastor Appreciation Month - October is Pastor Appreciation Month. A week long celebration entitled "Seven Days of Blessings" is being planned to honor Pastor Jason & Andrea and their family. The idea is that we as a church family would each choose a day of the week specified to show our individual appreciation to them. Your family may choose to team up with another family to do this and that is perfectly fine. Some ideas include having them over for a meal, dropping off a meal, taking them out for a meal, blessing them with a love offering, taking them out to the movies, a card with written expressions, gift cards for massages, hair, nails, groceries, gas, clothes, and we all of us know that Pastor Jason is a techie, Andrea loves scrap booking, loves to journal (that might start thoughts flowing) and the list goes on and on. Pray and ask Father how you can bless them. Be creative, be unique. Any expression(s) you choose, I know they will be blessed. The whole idea is to let them know that they are so very much loved and appreciated for all they do and for all they sacrifice for the Kingdom and for how diligently they watch over our lives and daily bathe us in prayer. Mark your calendars for the week of Sunday, October 11 - Saturday, October 17. The kick-off for the "Seven Days of Blessings" will be Sunday, October 11 with a festive breakfast in their honor.
